They know when something's about to happen, they sense it better than anyone else.
Just the little things, from following you everywhere you go, being extra sticky and sensitive to everything you say,
to the more obvious like checking on you because you're taking a longer than usual shower or coming in every few minutes to the computer room when the house seems a little to quiet.
Somehow a new sensitivity develops, the doe-eyed loving look they give you says it all.
All of a sudden out of no where, they come up and sit right in front of you and look at you as if to say, " Are you alright?" They sit for minutes just staring at you lovingly as you continue doing what you do best at this stage- sit on the couch and watch television. And then your heart melts.
Love emits from every molecule of your soul, leaving you to wonder: "What did I do to deserve such treatment?" The answer is incomprehensible: Nothing. Nothing at all.
It is a special loving bond only the generosity of a dog's heart can give.
An animal capable of so much from the heart has taught mankind more than they ever imagined. Love, respect, loyalty, and ultimate companionship above all the other little funny moments and tough ones too.
At 38 weeks, I am still pretty mobile despite the breathlessness and aches. Sometimes I get told off by family and friends for being too active! Anytime now, anytime!
