Soon enough....
"Waaaaaa! Eeeiuuuaaaakkkk!!!"
Oh no. Little Farting Machine is at it again. I turn over wishing I could sleep just a few seconds more. No luck. The cries get louder, to the point where LFM's face becomes all red and looks as if his nose was about to pop out of his face.
It's feeding time.
Even Java gets a little worried- she tosses and turns in her daybed outside- then as LFM's cries get louder, her ears perk up and she does her little "I have to check this out!" worried dance at the door, wanting to be let in. So I let her in to show her it's all O.K.
After a hearty milk meal, he settles a little better and I put him back down onto the sofa where we were once peacefully napping before his sudden burst of hunger.
As soon as I sit down to 'relax' - a foreign, faraway luxury these days and probably for a long time after...
"Ding..Dong..!"
Relatives appear at my doorstep with the best of intentions.
So I hurry to shoo the dog out before attending to the door- scruffy hair, ugly home clothes and all.
"Hi! Is he awake?"
"No, he's just had his feed so he's sleeping,"
"Oooo we just wanna have a peep! Do you want your laundry done at the same time?"
So they step in and look at him in anticipation of the Great Awakening. Nothing. He is lost in dreamland.
"Wow he is so good, he is so peaceful and so quiet, look at him! So calm and collected..."
Yeah. If only they had been here just two minutes earlier they would get the full LFM experience.
Welcome to Motherhood, a glamorous round-the-clock job.
Actually, it's more of a 24/7 privilege and a lifetime of blessings.
Depends how you look at it...
