How to wash dishes efficiently

Ok. I can't believe I'm actually writing this post. Well, having reached 'aunty' status I think it shouldn't be any surprise though I still get mistaken for a 17yr old and get pity stares from strangers as they look at me, the baby in the stroller I am pushing, and back at me again. Or get asked 'AGE?' each time I make a face to face query that requires the applicant to be over 18 years of age.

Anyway, here is:

By using this method, I have found it to:
1. Save water
2. Save energy
3. Save detergent
4. Prolong the life of my dish sponge
5. Prevent the sink from clogging up- my pet hate!

This is how to wash dishes efficiently according to the Asian method. (detergent on a sponge, sponge the dishes, then wash detergent off and put on a dish rack to drip dry or wipe.)

1. Don't put all your dishes into the sink at once. Throw away any food scraps.
2. Wash the non-oily dishes first.
3. As you're nearing the end of washing the non-oily dishes, put the more dirty ones and let the water from the washing rinse through the dirty dishes.
4. That starts the cleaning process and helps lighten your load + it saves water.
5. Wash the dirty ones.

By washing the non oily ones first, it helps save detergent as less is required, and your sponge remains clean. So you have a nice clean sponge ready to combat the dirty dishes.

If you wash them all at once, your sponge may become oily, your hands oily, and it blocks the kitchen sink.

Tip: If you're washing VERY dirty/oily dishes eg. a bowl of butter, wipe off excess oil with a good paper towel (eg. Viva wipes) first. It helps tremendously.
