Crockpot Cooking

I am very inspired and excited about my slow cooker at the moment.

I've been trying to cook healthier food for the family.

Soy sauce, MSG, oyster sauce- all out the window on most days.
Hello to grilling, steaming and blanching- and boiling! It IS possible to cook yummy food without using much oil.

But I do admit cooking the odd kampua or or fried chicken. (yumm!!)

I came across this website and am getting all fired up about cooking almost everything on there!

Actually the idea only came out of a broken oven. I have been waiting for months (since Christmas) for my oven to be fixed (the grill bit works) but really, really felt like cooking lamb one day, and thought: 'hmm, how else can I cook a leg of lamb?'

So I put my thinking hat on and in went the 1.12kg lamb leg with a large potato, some leftover carrots, fresh rosemary and crushed garlic with a pinch of salt, plus half a cup of red wine and a third of a cup of water.

We'll know how it tastes tomorrow!

Next on the menu: Crockpot Pound Cake!

Looking forward to befriending the slow cooker!
