First Item

Yesterday I bought the first ever clothing item for Baby.

I never realised how much of an 'experience' it would be.

And I'm sure you wouldn't too, unless you have children of your own.

It felt weird walking into a baby/kid's clothing store. I couldn't help but admire all the little girls' cute little dresses and accessories, however I did not like the fact that most clothing companies associate little girls with the colour pink. It's over-commercializing the fact that one little girl may be crazy about pink. What about those who like yellow and blue? And green? We're so blessed in Aus land that kids even get to pick the colour they like.

Anyway, back to the point.

For the first time I had to really think of what Baby would actually look like physically and what it would feel like to craddle the fragile little thing in my arms. I was tempted to buy more than one item, but decided to hold off a little longer. I'm the sort of person who has to think through every single purchase and only go to the shops for a reason. (hmm...but funny how there is always a reason to go shopping).

Touching the tiny delicate piece of fabric for the first time, my heart filled with a sense of excitement and eager anticipation. I actually can't wait for Baby to arrive! My biggest nightmare has turned into a blessing of a beautiful dream.

...And providing everything goes smoothly.

This is indeed one huge, huge journey of faith.
