Some relief. Finally.
Fruits still look enticing, juicy, and taste like heaven (not literally)...and here's the lamest ever fruit cartoon I managed to find among all the lame ones. Fruit cartoons are so lame!
I was having a conversation with my Indonesian student and she mentioned she had a lot of buah salak back home.
What is buah salak? I haven't heard that word for nearly a decade. Then it clicked.
YES!! I KNOW!!!
It's this!!

It has a latexy taste, sort of apple-like crispy, sourish sweetish and highly acidic. Not palatable to every taste bud, but very popular among locals. I had it a few times when I was younger, I remember my friend and I opening it and she got cut by its skin! We were about 8 or 9 I think.
Kind of reminds me of mangosteen.

I wish there were more fruits here. Like Pisang Keling, Durian, Rambutan, Swak Pomelo, and Ciku!! I would love to have buah ciku again! I really miss it, but I haven't heard one person talk about it in the past decade. I wonder if it's extinct or what?!

Speaking of food, I have been spoilt rotten by random people. My student cooked me authentic Indo nasi briyani and curry with roti prata and rojak, all from scratch, a family friend cooked the fattiest of fatty pork dishes at Pastor's house but nevertheless it was worth it (or the best ever), another family friend is going to make some of her special recipies! And it is all coincidence if not God's blessings!
So now, I have some of my appetite back and not everything tastes like metal anymore.
I just hope the process of turning into a something like this is delayed a little longer. Fat days coming up!

(According to references, Baby should start to kick soon. Watch out!)
