Chapter Five: Lucia

A continuation of Chapter Four: More Observations

A shabby looking girl at a distance caught my eye. She was definitely coming towards me, a tin can in her left hand and dirt on her face. She looked somewhat familiar, but I couldn't recognize her from such a distance.

As she came closer, I had a good look at her face.

"Lucia?"

"What are you doing here?"

"Uh me? I'm hoping you can tell me! What are you doing here? And how...?"

"No time for questions," Lucia looked at me with cold emptiness in her eyes.

"You gotta get out of here soon. They're coming."

"Who? Where am I?" I could feel fear and uncertainty escalating in the tone of her voice.

"The only way to get out- there," She pointed at the wooden balustrades. Suddenly I realized it was not as simple as it looked, the wooden planks served more than a balcony, they were a complex maze...

"They told me to be prepared. Watch out." She added. Her voice was monotonous.

"You're scaring me! What is really going on here?"

"They said you will find a dead body. Where, I don't know. They told me you will find it. It will be in the water," she looked at the direction of one of the riverbanks.

"Huh? WHAT!!?" I looked to where she was referring to and the water seemed calm. There was a bridge I didn't notice before, and under that bridge the boy with the soccerball was playing in the water.

"You mean..." I turned around, but Lucia was gone. Darn.

to be continued...
