Here's what comes to my mind:

Water is a substance essential for all forms of life, and is commonly used descriptively eg. Your love is like flowing water, or...as vast as the sea...whatever....
As much as water gives life, it takes away life in a split second. Like tsunamis, floods, and waves.
It also brings much joy as in water sport, and housing water animals (I believe there is a word for this...) and fancy drinks like Ais Kacang.

However this has nothing to do with what I want to write today. Well I suppose it does in the sense that water being the common denominator. We often hear laments on how awful a constant talking person is, and the past week, I have come to know all about it:
The culprit

Yes, it is like dripping water. ...drip...drop...drip...went the showerhead in our bathroom. When I tried to sleep at night, ....drip...drop...drip...
When I wake up in the morning, ...drip...drop...drip...
When I brush my teeth, ...drip...drop...drip...
When I walk into the room, ...drip...drip... AND DRIP!!
And it drove me seriously In-SANE!! To the point where my ears felt like they were burning from the constant dripping sound. It's amazing how a precious substance like water can become the most irritating of them all. And one tiny drop is all it takes.
The trick is not to tighten the tap too hard. But if we don't tighten it enough, it may drip but then again if we tighten it too much, it may wear out the rubber plug. I discovered our shower head tends to accumulate water and then makes you think you haven't tightened it enough- so I tighten it even more!
Now I know what it means when the Bible says a quarrelsome wife is like constant dripping (Proverbs). Here a wife is used as an illustration, however the same goes with anyone.
What good is the tongue when used incorrectly?
And what good is water when it is constantly dripping in your bathroom!
Both contribute largely to everyday living, but may also cause disdain.
How does it feel to be nagged at? If you're like me and you've never quite experienced it before, try letting your nearest sink drip a little and hang around to hear it, and you'll find, one drop is all it takes.
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in your sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14
