When Work Seeps into Your Life

As much as I see work as another small part of the big picture life is, it can't be helped that the sort of work you do would influence you in some way whether you like it or not. Society nowadays defines individuals based on their profession/work, much to my disappointment. What do you say when you introduce yourself to someone? Or what questions do you get asked when you first meet someone?

"Hi, I'm xxxx, I'm an accountant/I'm studying Commerce."

"Hi, nice to meet you. So, what sort of work do you do?"

Or,

"Hi, I'm xxxx, and I'm a mother of three."

"Hi, I'm xxxx, and I love fishing."

Well for the kind of work I do, you know you've worked too much when:

Everything on every single shelf in your own house has to be arranged in an orderly way (it has to be in date, clean looking, and functioning to its full capacity!?), or it may bring great distress:

Even the daily essentials in your house reminds you of work

You can't even enjoy sweet pleasures without thinking of work

Everything you pick up seems to be defined by it's expiry date.

You refuse to wear white shirts other than to work,

When you are reminded of lab sessions when you are baking

V.S.
When you start to scrutinize the fine prints in every food product you buy and wonder if 'Refrigerate After Opening' actually means Refrigerate After Opening.

In such a 'busy' day and age, most have become their work or profession. Life is short. Live it!
